  • Julienne the onions.
  • In a suitable bowl place the onions and add water, sugar and margarine cut into small cubes over the onions.
  • Cover them and keep them on low heat until the onions are translucent.
  • Uncover them, increase the heat so that the water evaporates and caramelises the onions until they turn golden.
  • Keep them warm until served.
