Cantharellus cibarius – commonly known as the chanterelle or girolle – is a fungus from the Basidiomycetes group that belongs to the Cantharellaceae family, the mushroom is edible.

This mushroom has a pleasant taste and offers plenty of opportunities in the cuisine whether it  is cooked, canned or dried (it can be stored up to one. Its firm texture is a great accompaniment to meat. The mushroom contains tiny traces of Amanitin, but in order to get poisoned, a human being should eat hundreds of kilograms.
